Why did you choose Involuntary Art as the name for this site?

I wanted a site on Manga, Anime, Manwha, Manhwa, and to be able to stretch it as I saw fit. The meaning for all three (minus Anime) means "In Spite of Oneself picture".. or Involuntary Art. I later expanded it to mean all kinds of art that grows on people over time. I have also included a section for unknown writers, and things that people won't really admit that they like, but really do.

Isn't this involuntary art only for kids?

Actually, no. The range and target for asian graphic comic book novels and asian animation can be anywhere from 5 to 40. There are some involuntary art that a 40 year old would dislike, and stuff that a 5 year old shouldn't be exposed to. It ranges.

How old is Involuntary Art Dot Com?

1. I first came with the idea for the site in general when I first visited AQ and decided that a hypothetical web site would be good in actuality. That was in May of 1998. The site really started and was typed up from scratch in Early June 1999.

2. It was technically born on June 30 of 2000. However, it's gone through several incarnations and reincarnations.

3. First it was on free servers as "Hitsuji's site", but it got too big to host on the servers and I hated the ads.

4. Then I bought udi-mangaanime.com, but I disliked the name, so it got renamed and moved as Animanga Palace.com

5. I themed Animanga Palace and got it going.. and was about to do an overhaul when...

6. Animanga Palace was hijacked by Network Solutions. They effectively froze the site and wouldn't let me change to another registrar, despite all my efforts for 3+ months, I couldn't get them to transfer it over. --;; (I would sue them if it wasn't for the fact that I'm not rich..)

7. At that time, I'd started Takeuchi-naoko.com. All the Sailormoon things transferred over to that site.

8. Then I bought Involuntary Art with a new vision of expanding into a field that no one else had tried to do before. A lot of the smaller things has gone into this site.

9. Involuntary Art itself was born in May of 2002. (You do the math)

10. Overall this site has been through a lot of abuse and reorganization. (Including servers, sellouts, pain.. etc)

Who is Pandora?

She's my pet snake. She's an Eastern Ribbon Snake. (I think it's a she anyway). Ribbon snakes are a lot like garter snakes, but tend to eat more fish. As HHGTTG would say, "Mostly Harmless." Pandora is three feet long. She's really curious, good tempered, and very nice.
She's cute! ^_^ If you think I'm crazy, well, you haven't met your snake. ^_^ Snakes can be cute, like frogs, dogs, cats, birds and fish. Especially Sheep. ^.~

What is that thing on the front page-- the Sheep?

It's called the Sheep Counter. People count Sheep. She counts humans. She's also the reincarnation of Mr. Friendly Counter, and the mascot of this site. Afterall, the Golden fleece came from a sheep, and it was considered art enough for Jason to steal the fleece, and the sheep was forgotten for the sacrifice that was made. BTW, that sheep's name was Aries, as in the sign in the zodiac. I joke that Aries was an ancestor of hers.

How many people, really run the site?

Honestly? Umm.. 1 person and her snake (Pandora) with some by friends where necessary.

Is FLAMABLE ethical?

Honestly, I think it is. But, I wouldn't recommend everyone do it. ^_^ People who like to debate can do it. It is probably a good thing to ignore the flames. If you do decide to respond to flames, you really should know what you are doing before you answer.

I do it also because i might get to actually inform the flamer, and give them the attention they so crave. Maybe I can also help them get over their difficulties in speech, arguments, and insecurities.Everyone needs love aand affection, some people purposefully seek the negative variety, why not give them it?

How many sites do you have?

Officially, 2. If you count up the individual sites it would be 5. (Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Chibimoon Fan Fiction [not an archive], Takeuchi-naoko, Involuntary Art, Diamens, Creative Fan) But then those sites probably could be split into 10 or more.

What is Kim Yoon Mi?

It's My Korean name (not my "real name"). Technically it would be rude to call me "Mi", but I couldn't pass up the pun. My full given name is Yoon Mi (also Spelled Yun Mi). *shrugs* But most call me Hitsuji (Kinno Hitsuji) or Ud anyhow.
